Cycling: Belveder (Cetinje) – Settlement of Rijeka Crnojevića – Honey farm Follow the old trade route from Old Montenegrin Royal Capital Cetinje to one of the former most important bazaars in Montenegro - settlement of Rijeka Crnojevića. The cycling tour starts from the Belveder restaurant, 2 km outside of Cetinje, which was once a favorite picnic spot of King Nikola I Petrović. From this spot that offers a magnificent view of the mountains surrounding Lake Skadar, you cycle down the old trade route, passing through villages with typical stone architecture for this area in Montenegro (stone houses and a big “guvno” - threshing floor). Paddle further and get to stunning vistas down to Lake Skadar. By departure to Rijeka Crnojevića take a walk along its korzo (main walking street) where bazaar held each Saturday in a week. Then you could continue cycling along ascent to honey & wine farm or we could provide you short transfer to avoid it and keep riding on flat terrain. On the way to there you pass one of the most stuning viewpoints at the Lake Skadar. In honey & wine farm you will have a chance to step into slow food rhytm of village. Our friendly host will guide you through his carefuly cherished wineyard and explain us a lot about local sorts of grapes and honey production. On the end we will enjoy wine and liquer tasting and feel all the flavours of honey products. With well known local wild pomegranate juice taste the local food.
Enjoy a walking pilgrim’s tour and visit monasteries in area above Budva. First monastery which you visit is Duljevo monastery located 470 m above sea level, in the mountains overlooking the Paštrović plain. It has a church dedicated to St. Stephen, which was built in the 14th century. Path will lead you to monastery Rustovo. The monastery church where villagers would gather on Sundays and holidays is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. Here you can learn how nuns of this monastery use herbs in their surrounding and produce oils, cremes, herbs, balsams etc. Nowadays this is a women monastery which has, beside the old church, the small wooden Russian church dedicated to the Holy Russian Royal Family Romanov. Continue your descent walk over Čelobrdo village and catch dramatic panoramic views of Budva’s coastline and hotel island St. Stephen. Step into Jegor’s path, built at the end of 18th and beginning of 19th century by single handed Russian monk Jegor Stroganoff who carved it for 10 years in the stone. Grateful villagers built a memorial plaque in his honour. Take a rest in monastery Praskvica settled on a green slope above Miločer. Continue walking along the picturesque coast to the island St. Stephen - old fisherman settlement transformed in a luxurious hotel.
